POLE testing

 

The BAGP and BGCS recommend POLE molecular testing in all endometrial carcinomas, preferably performed on biopsy material where feasible; this will allow incorporation of molecular classification into multidisciplinary discussions and reporting of hysterectomy specimens and will support informed treatment decisions.

 

FIGO staging

 

The BAGP and BGCS recommend continuing to use the FIGO 2009 endometrial cancer staging system in the UK. At present, the FIGO 2023 staging system is not recommended for routine use and an update is planned. The FIGO 2023 system is considered as a risk-stratification framework rather than a traditional staging system.
