BSSVD is a growing UK based international society with members currently numbering over 160 and drawn from a range of specialities such as Dermatology, Gynaecology, Genitourinary Medicine and Histopathology. The society places much emphasis on multi-disciplinary working and this is reflected in its officers who are drawn from all the disciplines.

The objectives of the society are:

  • The relief of patients suffering from vulval diseases
  • The promotion of research into the causes of vulval diseases on the terms that the results of such research are published
  • The practice and the art and science of diagnosing and treating vulval diseases.

BSSVD also has a strong commitment to vulval patients via its support of the Vulval Pain Society (VPS) and the National Lichen Sclerosus Support Group (NLSSG).
